Message Box Query Operations

BizTalk360 provides the options to save and delete the query expressions as provided by the BizTalk Admin Console. Users can save the queries for easy access in future.

Saving the query expression

  • Log into the BizTalk360 application
  • Click the 'Operations' tab in the Navigation panel
  • Click the expand button against the 'Data Access' tab and select the 'Message Box (Queries)' link
  • Select the appropriate query + filter criteria (if any), and click Execute Query
  • BizTalk360 allows users to Pin the GroupBy Results information as a Widget to Operations/Analytics Dashboards.
  • Once the query results are available, click the 'Save Query icon (floppy disk icon)' to save the query
  • In the Manage Queries page, enter the name to save the query expression
  • Click Save to save the query expression
  • Once the query is saved, the tab name will be renamed with the name of the query.

The example shows you how to build a query for Messages with filter conditions and save the query as "Service-Orchestration-Query"

BizTalk360 allows the users to open up to 4 tabs at a time to execute multiple queries. To open a new tab, click the + button. To close the tabs individually, click the * button next to the tab name. To close all the tabs in one click, click the X button next to the + button.

Save As (Saving An Already Saved Query Expression With New Name)

  • Click the Open Saved Query icon (folder icon). Select the query name from the list to open the saved query
  • The tab name will be renamed with the name of the query and the saved filter criteria will be displayed under the Build Query Expression section
  • Click the Save Query As icon (files icon). In the Manage Queries page, enter the new name to save the query expression
  • Click Save to save the query expression

Opening the saved query expression

  • Log into the BizTalk360 application
  • Click the 'Operations' tab in the Navigation panel
  • Click the expand button against the 'Data Access' tab and select the 'Message Box (Queries)' link
  • Click the Open Saved Query icon (folder icon). Select the query name from the list to open the saved query
  • The tab name will be renamed with the name of the query and the saved filter criteria will be displayed under the Build Query Expression section
  • Click Execute Query to generate the query results.

Deleting the saved query expression

  • Log into the BizTalk360 application
  • Click the 'Operations' tab in the Navigation panel
  • Click the expand button against the 'Data Access' tab and select the 'Message Box (Queries)' link
  • Click the Delete Queries icon (trash bin icon)
  • In the Manage Queries page, click the delete icon (trash bin icon) against the query name that has to be deleted
  • The query will be deleted from the list. Click the X button to exit from the Manage Queries page.

Filter Implementation for Grids

A Filter capability is implemented for the grid columns to do better search from the grid columns. A user can filter the data from the respective rows according to their needs.

The following types of filters have been implemented in the grid columns of Message Box Queries:

  • Date Time Filter
  • Status Filter
  • Text Filter

Date Time Filter

The Date Time filter is added to filter grid data based on the given selected date and time. This filter has below options for easy search: • Is equal to • Is not equal to • Is after or equal to • Is after • Is before or equal to • Is before • Is Null • Is not Null

Status Filter

The status filter is used to filter Status columns. The drop down of the filter shows values according the statuses which are displayed in the column. The user can select the status from the drop down and filter accordingly.

Text Filter

This is the most commonly used filter. Using this filter, a user can perform text based search. The text filter has the following options:

  • Is equal to
  • Is not equal to
  • Starts with
  • Ends with
  • Contains
  • Does not Contains
  • Is Null
  • Is not null
  • Is Empty
  • Is not Empty
