BizTalk360 includes two Windows NT services: the BizTalk360 Monitoring service and the BizTalk360 Analytics Service. These services are designed for monitoring operations and collecting performance data respectively. Within these services there are sub-services responsible for executing specific tasks. In certain scenarios, these sub services may encounter issues that could lead to exceptions.
The Manage Services section shows the details of any exception in the services running thus checking for the health of the services.
A warning will be shown on top of sub services to indicate that some exceptions occurred, and Exception details can be seen by clicking the eye icon on the corresponding service.
Once the exception is resolved, users can restart the BizTalk360 services directly by clicking the Restart option. Additionally, users have the flexibility to start or pause sub-services within this section, except pausing the Heartbeat Service, which cannot be controlled from here.
If any of the sub-service is paused or stopped, users have the ability to start it directly from the Manage Services section for both monitoring and analytics. This ensures that users can quickly resume service operations without any interruptions, helping to maintain the smooth functioning of their environment. By easily starting or restarting the services, users can avoid disruptions in monitoring and analytics processes, ensuring continuous data flow and system health.
Option to remove servers that are not reachable
Assume a scenario where multiple servers are configured with BizTalk360 Monitoring and Analytics services. There can be instances in which some servers become temporarily unreachable due to network issues, maintenance, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Such unavailability can potentially lead to unexpected behavior or disruptions in the monitoring and analytics functionalities of BizTalk360. To address this BizTalk360 provides an option that allows users to remove servers that are currently unreachable from the BizTalk360 services list.
Once the previously unreachable server becomes available again, it will automatically be detected, re-added, and displayed on the BizTalk360 services page, maintaining continuity without manual intervention.
Service Version Mismatch Indication in High Availability
In high-availability setups where Monitoring and Analytics services are installed, the services will be displayed along with the server's name, BizTalk360 Monitor version, Analytics version, status, and last live time. This information helps identify the active server and allows you to switch the active server if needed.
It is important to ensure that all Monitoring and Analytics services are upgraded to the same version. To assist with this, the version details are displayed in the top bar. If there are inconsistencies between installed service versions, the icons representing the monitoring and analytics services at the top of the screen will animate to notify users about the version mismatch. This serves as an alert, prompting users to consider upgrading to the latest available higher version.
