In this section, we will show how to set up monitoring of the system resources. The resources monitored under this section are CPU and Memory usage of the BizTalk server(s).

As shown below, BizTalk360 automatically retrieves the current CPU and memory usage of the BizTalk server(s). You can configure BizTalk360, to alert you when the CPU and Memory go below the specified threshold percentages.

 

Setting up monitoring for System Resources

  1. Log in to the BizTalk360 application
  2. Click 'Monitoring' in the navigation panel 
  3. Click the expand button against 'Manage Mapping' tab and select 'BizTalk Servers'
  4. Select the BizTalk server from the drop-down for which you want to set up the monitoring
  5. Select the Alarm name (see Manage Alarms) from the drop-down for which you would like to associate the alerts
  6. At the tab pages at the top, select 'System Resources'
  7. Click the 'Enable Monitoring' button to set up monitoring for the system resources. You can customize your alert to trigger a notification when the CPU/memory usage goes above/below a certain percentage (say 10% or 20%)
  8. Click 'Save' to save the threshold information
  9. At any point, to stop monitoring, click the 'Disable Monitoring' button

In the above screenshot is shown that the BizTalk Server BT360DOC needs to be monitored for high CPU and memory usage. 

  • A Warning notification should be received in case the available CPU goes below 30% and available Memory goes below 30%
  • An Error notification should be received in case the available CPU goes below 10% and available Memory goes below 20%
