Article summary

Once after the successful installation, while launching the application you may face errors while launching the application due to the lack of permissions. In such cases, the BizTalk360 Desktop/Standalone Troubleshooter will help us to find the missed permissions.

Troubleshooter in BizTalk360 High availability

Standalone Troubleshooter is used to troubleshoot, when Monitoring and Analytics Services are installed in the separate machines from BizTalk360 web server.

  • Once after dowloading the troubleshooter, run the troubleshooter on the machine where the BizTalk360 monitoring service is running.
  • On the launching page, under the Menu Navigate to Home -> Troubleshoot, The BizTalk360 Service account name will be collected and displayed.
  • Provide the password of the Service account. If you are using gMSA (Group Managed Service Accounts, a specific kind of Active Directory account that offers a single identity solution for applications that are hosted on multiple hosts) Account please check the gMSA acount and leave the password empty.
  • Click on the Troubleshoot BizTalk360 button. It may takes few minutes to check the permissions and provide results.

Once the Loading is completed, the reports will be generated, now we can view reports on the respective modules.

BizTalk360 Health: User can check for the IIS configuration under the BizTalk Health once after clicking on the Troubleshoot BizTalk360 button.

Also the BizTalk/SQL Permission status will display inside the Server Check. The permissions are nothing but the dependent port/services/protocols that need to be enabled on both BizTalk and SQL Servers for the smooth communications like,

  • RPC - Remote Procedure call (Windows Service),
  • TCP - Transmission Control Protocol (Port 135),
  • SQL SERVER - SQL Server Service (Port 1433, if you are using any custom port needs to be enabled),
  • MSDTC - Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (Windows Service),
  • WMI - Windows Management Instrumentation (Windows Service),
  • Local Admin permissions - Local Administrators group (Computer Management).

Environments: Available environments will be getting listed along with its details under this menu, so that user shall check for the respective environment details. You can able to view the below details,

  • Environment Details
  • BizTalk NT Groups
  • AD Permission Check
  • SQL Permission Check

Report Generation in Troubleshooter
On troubleshooting BizTalk360 will validate the configuration, advanced setting and its permission against the user and password provided. The Troubleshooter reports can be download as a Zip file to share the reports.
